Russ-pic-_1_Vancouver, Wash. – iQ Credit Union, based out of Vancouver, Wash., announces the appointment of Russ Bernardo as Chief Lending & Credit Officer at iQ Credit Union following a national search. Bernardo will oversee all consumer and mortgage lending and business banking activities at iQ beginning April 8, 2023.

With a 30-year career in financial services, Bernardo's journey began as a teller at a credit union while pursuing his business degree at the University of Oregon. Since then, he has served in multiple executive leadership positions in the credit union lending industry, most recently as Chief Lending Officer (CLO) at Oregon Community Credit Union in Eugene, Ore.

He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Washington State University and is currently on the board of a local Habitat for Humanity affiliate in Lane County, Ore.

“Russ brings a wealth of lending experience and knowledge to iQ. I’m excited to have his strong leadership through our next phases of growth,” said Eric Petracca, president and CEO of iQ Credit Union.

Bernardo’s appointment follows the retirement of iQ’s former CLO, Gayle Rust Gustafson, who concluded a 42-year career in the credit union industry.
