98% of the credit union’s employees participate to raise funds to help local children-based charities
Vancouver, Wash.—In the early 1990s, iQ Credit Union created iQ For Kids, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit designed to raise money for local charities focused on improving children’s lives. In 2021, iQ For Kids eclipsed $3 million in total donations over the years, and the credit union is celebrating the impact the nonprofit has made on dozens of Northwest children-based charities.
Each month, iQ employees get to wear jeans as a result of donating part of their paycheck for iQ For Kids. Nearly every employee (98%) at iQ participates in the nonprofit program.
“Our entire staff is honored and humbled to have helped thousands of local children by raising millions of dollars over the years,” said iQ Credit Union’s Trista Carbajal, who leads iQ for Kids. “Partnering with such remarkable nonprofits as Teach One to Lead One, Rocksolid Community Center and Playworks has made our contributions worthwhile and meaningful.”
iQ For Kids receives approximately 50 applications a year from deserving children-based charities across the Pacific Northwest. Past iQ For Kids charity recipients include:
