iQ CREDIT UNION EARNS NATIONAL AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN COMMUNITY AND EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
Vancouver, Wash.— iQ Credit Union, headquartered in Vancouver, Wash., was recently honored with an Excellence Award, which recognizes human resources best practices and achievements in the credit union industry.
The award was presented by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) HR & Organizational Development Council, a national network comprised of 900+ credit union professionals. Awards are given in each of three categories: Employee Engagement, Management Practices and Innovative Staff Development.
iQ Credit Union’s award for Employee Engagement is no surprise to credit union staff who appreciate the organization’s multi-faceted approach to community involvement. Local communities are familiar with the plaid-clad teams and roving Plaid Wagon supporting community events.
New in 2017, iQ implemented a Community Time Off program that provides all employees with a paid day off to support a local charity of their choice. During the first full year of the program, iQ staff volunteered more than 575 hours.
As a result of these and other employee engagement efforts, overall turnover at iQ dropped 6 percent over the last year, making iQ’s turnover well below industry standard. In addition, iQ was the highest-ranked financial institution in the mid-sized category in the Oregonian Top 100 Employers list for the second year in a row.
Excellence Award winners were recognized at the council’s 24th annual conference held April 22-25 in Fort Lauderdale. For more information on the Excellence Awards or to view the entire list of winners, go to www.cunacouncils.org/awards.
